A Day of Landscaping

The start of some landscaping. Here Juma, Rehema and Jafrey are leveling the ground before the trucks of gravel arrive. Lots of yard to do but little by little we will get it done. The weather was nice and sunny for a change!

My friend, Teshi, taking a break! He has been with me 24/7! He picks me up drives me every where I want and takes me home...he carries my backpac, opens my door and says "yes mama" no mama". I stayed with his family the first 15 days I was here. His family runs Sotwa School, where all the children from Karim go to school.

Rehema is getting after Teshi here for sitting down on the job!

Juma, Rehema's 18 year old brother, and myself working on the yard. Juma was the sweetest and hardest worker ever. He also helped build the house, helped move, packed up the old house, helped set up the new house, put together bunk beds, has been there everyday since we moved and has NEVER asked for a dime and has NEVER stopped smiling. I love this kid...gonna miss him!

One of three trucks of gravel we ordered for the front of the yard. Each 7 ton truck of gravel cost about $60 and the labor was $30 for 3 guys.

Me with my new rake doing some landscaping while everyone is sitting drinking their fanta and coca cola!

The front of the house is starting to look awesome...three x 7 ton trucks of gravel, some rocks, trees and a whole lot of shoveling and racking.

The front of the house after some landscaping. There is a whole acre of land to do so we will do it little by little. Next, Rehema would like to plant a vegetable garden in the back.
