On my Way Again!
Well, I am on my way again! My 5th trip now. Just got home tonight from Toronto for a Herbal Magic Conference~that was a blast and we got TOP centre in Canada~whoo hooo~my first year! Now I am unpacking, washing clothes, making lists of what I have to do and what I have to get so that I can be ready in one day for, yet another, exciting trip to Tanzania. Going with 2 friends, Heather and Joy, for a whole month. Lots to do on this trip. If you remember, we had a fundraiser back in April and raised $12,000 for new bus for Karim Orphanage. So, I will be purchasing that new 4x4 mini van and have 'Karim Children Care Centre' painted on the side. So excited for this! Already hired our new bus driver, Ernest. He is our neighbor and a very hard worker when I come to town so I hired him. Also, the Rotary "Rafiki" House will get started~whooo hoooo! All the plans are done and we are ready to go. I will be taking lots of pictures and keep you all up to date on what we are doing so stay posted. It's going to be exciting! Its always exciting! Well, got to get packed~I leave in one day!
Hailey & Paige
I met these two very smart & adorable girls, Hailey & Paige while in Toronto, Ontario on the weekend. I thought it was very cool that they were interested in what I do in Africa for the children and that they wanted to follow my blog. Paige has already set up a skype account so that she can talk with me while I am in Africa and talk to some of the children at the Orphanage and the school. The girls can already speak a little Swahili as I taught them a few words ~ "Jambo" is hello "Habari gani" is how are you and a few other words so that when we connect on skype they can communicate with the children. Great job, girls, with the Swahili lessons! I am also going to get the children at Karim Orphanage to write letters to Hailey and Paige & their friends at school so they can make friends outside of Africa. I think this is very important & can be very educational for both of them to learn how each other lives so very different. Also, it will be fun for both the kids in Africa and Canada. So, Hailey and Paige ~ we have 7 boys & 9 girls. I will email you their names & ages so that you can write short letters to them. I think it might be best that we email them as mailing could take quite awhile. The girls are going to pass out my blog to some of their friends and teachers at their school in Burlington so that more people can become aware of what I do. I leave for Africa in 2 days so make sure you girls follow me to Africa and back! Thank you sooo much, Hailey and Paige~you are the BEST!
