Caring for Karim, Fundraiser

So, its all booked and four of my friends from Calgary and Okotoks, will soon be heading off to Arusha, Tanzania, for the month of July,  to visit Karim Orphanage. I am extremely excited for them and soooo wish I was going back! They are trying to raise $10,000 for Bridges of Hope, which will go towards purchasing a school bus for Sotwa Wilson school. Anything over and above that amount will go towards the children's Education fund. Two of them, Barb and Crystal, are teachers, so this is absolutely perfect for them, something that they are all so passionate about,  'Education'.  Getting these children to school, is so important and getting an Education is even more important. These children have dreams.... BIG dreams, like all of us and the only way their dreams will become a reality, is having an Education!

Mike, Barb, Crystal and Nick

On Friday, June 28th, they are having a tailgate party at the Stampeders Opening Game in Calgary at 5:30 pm, right before the game. Hope you can all join us for the fun! Please let me know if you plan to attend, I will see what I can do about getting you tickets!!

*PLEASE check out this awesome 3 minute video that Mike put together at:    http://youtu.be/f5mM9JJ4HnM

*All donations, can be made on line at   www.bridgesofhope.ca PLEASE,  put 'Tanzania Project 2013' in the comment box to insure the donation! Thank you!

Good Luck, Mike, Barb, Crystal and Nick!  Oh, and by the way, you just might see these 4 wearing their favorite 'African Animal' at the Stampeders Game! And maybe, just maybe, I might throw something on too....just saying, it could be fun!

You Give Me Hope

I seem to think I have learned alot over the years.  But one of my biggest lesson's is "If I have the courage to Believe, I can make anything happen!" I believe I can change lives, not by just Giving, but by Giving myself. Giving someone Hope and Love can change their life and get them through another day.

"You give me Hope
and I can face another day
All it takes is Love and Faith
and the courage to Believe
You give me Hope

It might be dark and I might be scared
But what ever this life brings
Knowing that you will always be there
I can take on anything
If you're beside me in this fight
I know I'll make it through the night
Cause you give me Hope!

from the First Time We Met...

It's really hard to believe that it's going to be 5 years since I first met these children, at Karim Orphanage. Who would of thought, that I would still be returning to visit them, five years later? Certainly not me! I just returned home from my 10th trip to Tanzania and each time I visit, they grow up just a little bit more! It's funny, how they keep that same cute smile, that same twinkle in their eye, that same attitude...but they grow up, just a little bit each time!

* from the first time we met ... I knew
I'd have a never ending Love, for you!
