Little Hawa

This Hawa having a good giggle at Mama Linda's new hairdo! She said I look like her now!

The new Karim Orphanage

This is the workers finishing up the concrete steps outside...they too run around working barefoot because of the mud.

Only 3 more sleeps till the big day! Everyday the children ask 'Today, Mama? Today Mama?' Today, the solar was installed...and yes we have LIGHTS!! Rehema was so excited to turn on a light switch and have lights. She started dancing and singing 'Today is a good day!' I can not describe the feeling of how exciting this is for me, to see someone so happy to have something we take for granted. I hope you can all visit Karim Orphanage someday!

The place where they live now

The children's colorful shoes out in the rain

This where Karim Orphanage is now. The 2 rooms they live in, a room with table and chairs and a bedroom with 3 beds for all of them, has about 3 inches of rain in it. The children usually walk around with their pants rolled up or just sit on the bed because their is so much outside for them.

My new home for 4 weeks

This is where I am Living while I am here, with Mr Shange and his wife Edith and about 10-12 children.

Rain ,Rain

It rains everyday here! The roads are mud or washed away and we drive where ever we wont get stuck. We have been stuck 3 times, had to walk in mud up to our ankles. Yesterday, when we got stuck I drove and Rehema and Teshi pushed. Haha, I drove in Africa! Still having fun!

Stove and fridge

We found a new fridge and stove and they will be delivered friday. This is so exciting for Rehema , as she does not have any of this now. She doesn't even have a kitchen! She cooks on a little hibatchi right now.
