Here I GO Again!!

In just 36 hours I will be at the airport once again, waiting to embark on a long 26 hour flight to Arusha, Tanzania. The long flight and 4 airports don't bother me~it's quite exciting actually. I know what awaits me at the last airport in Kilimanjaro~the smiling faces of Rehema and some of the children will be there to greet us. Rehema and the children are extremely excited this time as Mama Linda is bringing new friends~Jody, Alex & Hannah. I too am excited for these 3 ladies as it is their first time to Africa. I remember my first time, with my daughter Lisa, over 2 1/2 years ago now. It was so exciting and overwhelming. I remember sitting on the plane and when it took off, my daughter and I looked at each other and she said "this is crazy, I'm on a plane to Africa". Little did I know, what that first trip had in store for me and that it would be my 'AHA' moment! I hope my friend, Jody, and Alex and Hannah have that trip of a lifetime like I did. I know the love from the Karim Children will change them forever!

The Count Down is On!!

Once again, I will be returning to Africa, to do what I LOVE to do most~put smiles on the beautiful faces of the children and women of Karim Orphanage and their community! In just 14 more sleeps, I will be on a plane for the 4th time, bound for Arusha, Tanzania, Africa!! My friend Jody and 2 other young girls from Lethbridge will be travelling with me this time. This is the first trip to Africa for these 3, so I am extremely excited for them.
Oprah definetly has the golden touch! Since being featured on the Season Premiere of Oprah, I have had almost $10,000.00 in donations come in for the Orphanage!! And of these donations was $1500.00 from some of the 300 Ultimate Fans I had the pleasure of travelling to Australia with. Once, complete strangers~now, my new friends that I have inspired to help.
With these donations we will paint the 'grafitti wall'; build a playground; do some landscaping~trees, flowers, & grass; buy Rehema a washing machine; buy new school uniforms; and finish up a few odds & ends around the house!!!
Next, we need to raise money for a new school van! The one we have now is very old and NOT reliable~breaks down all the time, flat tires, so the children have to walk miles to school. So, your $25, to buy a brick on the wall, goes a LONG LONG way to help these children. You still have 2 weeks to send your $25 and we will have your name, city, state, province, country put on the 'grafitti wall' of Karim Orphanage.
