Well, I am sure you have all watched the Season Premiere of Oprah! I have, only 8 times, now! That was so hard to keep that BIG secret for 5 days! Can you believe that 'Karim Orphanage' actually kicked off Oprah's last season? What you didn't see is that my story actually made Oprah and John cry! I am beyond excited that the 'world' has now seen Karim Orphanage and of course just a little excited about the fact that I am going on a vacation with Oprah AND John Travolta!
So, I am honored to have been an INSPIRATION to you all! You all know now, and I am living proof, that doing one small kind thing does come back ten times fold!

  1. Linda, you're a perfect example of how this show has inspired "ordinary" people to do extraordinary things that do make a big difference in the world. You are a hero!!!! As a mother of 2 adopted children and an educator with 35 years experience, I know how life-changing your work is and will be in the future. I'd love to contribute in some way...definately a brick. But maybe I could do more if we could inspire even just one school to learn about Tanzania and have a "funraiser" to contribute to your home. With admiration... Marge

  2. You and Greg looked like you were having a blast at the show! What great exposure for the orphanage. And to go on an Australian vacation with Oprah (and John Travolta as a pilot) would be a dream come true. Good things happen to good people...you deserve it. I read the article in today's paper about you heading a group to Karim in February. Where can we get more info about that?

  3. Hello Linda,
I heard about you and your work in Tanzania on the news regarding the Oprah show. I work in Rwanda and am interested in discussing with you how to start work on an orphanage there. Would you please email me at dgleeson@golden.net? Thank you so much for the work you do in Tanzania!
